Hall 20 – Smart Design Studio

In dramatic contrast with the subtle interiors of the Hall 20 project, this high-end dark kitchen offers a striking, monolith-like quality that’s theatrical, yet unimposing. Connected to the rest of the dwelling with a limestone-lined portal, the harmonious kitchen space reflects the visual language of the exterior. The angled underside of the island bench is a highly-resolved take on the building’s splaying corners, while the stone columns are a nod to the order of architecture.

The kitchen’s carefully curated spatial arrangement is further highlighted by the choice of premium kitchen appliances. The central stone column is framed by full-height joinery that conceals a fridge, freezer and wine fridge, leaving only the Gaggenau Vario 400 series cooktop and 200 series ovens with warming drawer on display. The functional and visual centrepieces of the space, Gaggenau’s sleek and seamlessly integrated appliances enhance the symmetrical layout of the space, while their brushed stainless steel detailing complements the magnificent matte quality of finishes.

The resulting space fuses elements that are subdued in form but bring rich tactility and enjoyment into everyday use.
