Fawkner House – Rob Mills Architecture & Interiors
The progressive and confident interiors of Fawkner House take inspiration from Chapel Notre Dame du Haut in Ronchamp, France, for its combination of organic mass, distinctive form and diversity of space. The sculptural, undulating façade is reflected in the treatment of internal walls and curved intersections, while the high ceilings evoke a sense of scale throughout the dwelling.
The kitchen is the epicentre of the residence. The space is grounded by an impressive, three-metre-long bench with the layout and positioning of the appliances designed to be functional, seamless and luxurious. The natural colour scheme elevates the interiors and highlights the visual appeal of Gaggenau’s suite of products, which are strategically integrated throughout the space. The eye-level oven and microwave sit flush against the joinery – facing the living space across the bench, their positioning makes the most out of the integrated design. Concealed behind timber veneer doors are the fully integrated fridge and freezer, while Gaggenau’s signature gas cooktops are located in the centre of the rear wall, framed by a custom-made metal rangehood. The dishwashers have been hidden away within the island benchtop.
Combining beauty, innovation and a sense of space, Fawkner House is the pinnacle of utmost luxury.
